The 2001 Prairie Cajun Folklife Festival took place on yet another beautiful autumn Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until 10 p.m. that night. Not as many out-of-state visitors were on hand this year, probably as a results of concern over travel safety after the September 11 terror attacks. There were plenty of American flags at the festival, but the focus continued to be on the celebration of Southwest Louisiana's unique culture: music, dancing, food, crafts demonstrations, and a lot more. These pages include a few pictures of some of the great musicians who performed that day. A second page includes pictures from the performance that evening of Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.
